(1) Sub-County Population Estimates
New city, village, and township population estimates for 2000 through
2002 have now been added to the Library of Michigan's census website.
These tables also include a revised "population estimates base" for
April, 2000. The estimates base now reflects modifications of the
original census counts to reflect annexations, official corrections of
census data, and also unofficial corrections of census data that have
been made by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The new population estimates are located at:
http://www.michigan.gov/census/0,1607,7-162--71812--,00.html

(2) Metropolitan and Micropolitan Areas
The paper on Michigan's new metropolitan and micropolitan areas has
been expanded to include:
- A table showing census counts and population estimates for each of
the new designated statistical areas.
- discussion and lists of "central cities" and "principal cities"
- additional links to other data sources
- additional new terminology
- additional description of the previous metro standards and discussion
of how changes in the standards affect certain counties near the
specified thresholds.

The updated paper can be found at:

(3) Scheduled Release of Age/Race/Sex/Hispanic Estimates
Statewide age/race/sex/Hispanic estimates through 2002 are scheduled
for release by the Census Bureau this month, and the corresponding
county estimates are scheduled for release in August. Precise release
dates have not yet been announced. Nationwide estimates are available
now at:
